I started to read and summarize Barack Obama's plan to address this hideous economy. But girlfriends/dudes, it is LONG. And since I just woke up from an allergy induced coma, I thought I'd write about Barack Obama's energy plan while I work on writing about the economy.
The Energy Plan is pretty long as well. But it was easier for me to read since I, (like John McCain) know nothing about the economy.
The Obama‐Biden comprehensive New Energy for America plan will:
• Provide short‐term relief to American families facing pain at the pump
• Help create five million new jobs by strategically investing $150 billion over the next ten years to catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future.
• Within 10 years save more oil than we currently import from the Middle East and Venezuela
combined
• Put 1 million Plug‐In Hybrid cars – cars that can get up to 150 miles per gallon – on the road by 2015, cars that we will work to make sure are built in America.
• Ensure 10 percent of our electricity comes renewable source by 2012, 25 percent by 2025.
• Implement an economy‐wide cap‐and‐trade program to reduce greenhous gas emissions 80 percent by 2050
and then my favorite:
• Create a “Green Vet Initiative”.
The renewable energy economy is exploding in the United States. In terms of venture capital alone, private investment in the sector topped $2.6 billion dollars in 2007. At the same time, more than 837,000 troops who served in Iraq or Afghanistan are now veterans. Barack Obama and Joe Biden will ensure that more of our veterans can enter the new energy economy. They will create a new “Green Vet Initiative” that will have two missions: first, it will offer counseling and job placement to help veterans gain the skills to enter this rapidly growing field; second, it will work with industry partners to create career pathways and educational programs.
Barack Obama for President

What makes you believe him? Just because he says so? You can't believe him based on his record, or his upbringing, or the people with whom he associates. How are you so sure. It's so classic of an Obama follower...and I don't like McCain.
Well, dkaz, it sounds like you've been "smeared". the tactics of the right are working and that's too bad. his record, upbrining, and the people he closely associates himself with do tell me that i can believe him. 12 generals have endorsed him as well as successful ethical business men like Warren Buffet. I sense your frustration but I'm an informed and educated supporter of Barack Obama.
I love your 30 Days, 30 Issues series. I will come back to check out some more.
What do you mean by "smeared"? I'm sorry for sounding condescending in the prior comment, that in reality was not the feeling I was trying to convey, rather I am truly interested in what an educated Obama really thinks when in comes to how things are really going to play out. I merely want to know why you so strongly believe that he will #1 follow through on everything he says he'll do when he has no record of doing that which he boasts of doing in the 4 years he's been a senator nor a community organizer and #2 why you think he can do everything he wants to do without some tax increases for the middle class-I know the back-up he uses to support his ability to do and provide all he wants to provide for Americans. My question is do you really believe he or anyone for that matter can get those things done in the next four years? I'm just surprised when I see BHO supporters flock around him like he's going to save the world and like everything he says is going to happen. It just seems naive (I'm not saying you are naive, just that it would seem naive to believe everything he says). In four years, I don't think anyone has the ability to make things as good of a picture as they are painting. Your thoughts?
I think everyone knows that leaders can not do every single thing they'd like to do. But we should know their stance and propositions on all these topics because a good portion of them can be set in motion and done. Bush did an amazing amount of damage in his time period. So the next president will have issues to clean up and new things to roll out. I certainly can believe in and vote for Obama based on his leadership, character, experience, and platform. I'll rally behind him now and in the years ahead, because sitting on the sidelines and calling people who are supportive and excited "naive" is not doing anything. A president can't do everything on their own. It is obvious that Obama will set a good tone in this country, and he's ignited political passion in people- that's exactly what America needs.

So, in your opinions do you think that BHO will be able to cut the deficit? Especially based on the tax plan proposed here? Cutting taxes is generally a Republican strategy. Democrats usually have to raise them in order to support government programs. I use the words generally and usually loosely. According to each of the candidates plans 100% of the people you and I know will not see much of a difference in either of their tax plans. What is your source for saying BHO's plan is going to save the middle class 3x more than McCain's? With those terms it seems even more absurd that the cuts to the middle class will afford the government the opportunity to provide for education, defense, or health care...all of which he is promising to deliver. Why is that people of most religions are not tithed more based on what they make? Is it not a flat rate? Why then, in all fairness do we think that the top 2% of income earners should pay more in taxes? This to me, is how entitlements begin? Thus, perpetuating our society of dependence. Give a man a fish-feed him for a day or teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime?
Patria, again you say it's "obvious" he's the guy to get it done. What leadership? What character? What experience? He has a persona, but real character? They say you can be defined by your peer group-have you really examined his?
Hi dkaz- I'm totally weirded out responding to a profile picture of a cute little girl who is on a critical rampage of Barack Obama! Anyways, I differ so completely from every statement you made in your last comment (and previous ones) that I have zero desire to try to explain or persuade or justify or educate. You sound like you're pretty set on your stance- all the best to you!

dkaz,
Your questions and implications have been answered time and time again through economic professionals. Instead of coming onto my blog, why not spend the time looking for answers on the internet. Can i answer those questions one by one? Yes, I can. Will I? No. Because I'm not your personal conflict resolutionist. My series gives a summary. Take responsibility and research your questions yourself.
Maybe Patria decided to not engage with you because your questions have been answered for the last 20 months of BHO's campaign so they seem somewhat baseless and they also seem to lack an educated judgment. I say that not b/c you seem to disagree but just b/c your disagreements are so rooted in stereotypes. Clearly you have some homework to do on both candidates.
In the meantime, again, feel free to do that homework instead of coming back to my blog.
